where do you guys like to go? What are your favorite dishes?

I’ve been to Electric Lotus on Vermont in LA (food is great and they have a dj playing trance on weekends), Nizam in West LA on Pico, and Bombay Cafe on Pico near Bundy. I like all those places; Electric Lotus in on the funky/nutty side, and Bombay Cafe is more Westside-chic.

I like curries, tandorri, biryani, and all the usual suspects.

I know this is the “wine experiences” category, but there was no “vodka experiences”, so this will have to do… Not that I really remember vodka experiences well enough to write about them, but I did recently do a vodka tasting and I wanted to share my favorites:
Stoli Elite—definitely my favorite
Grey Goose—used to be my favorite, until I tried Stoli Elite
Pearl—also very good

Has anyone tried Kauffman? It claims to be the best… and it better be for $250!

Mostly wines are stored in glass bottles and are sealed using cork. Recently, a growing wine producers have been using alternative closures such as screwcaps or synthetic plastic corks. Some wines are packed in heavy plastic bags within cardboard boxes are called Boxed wines or Cask wines. Advantage of box wine is, it can stay fresh for up to a mont after opening, while bottle wine will strat to oxidize immediately.

I had a chance to dine in the caves of Hall Winery during this year’s Napa Wine Auction. I’d never been to a winery cave, or even to Napa for that matter, before. For a first experience, the place blew my mind.
.
The entrance to the winery is epic-fashioned double doors that reveal a Willy-Wonka stainless steel and neon facility. Past the actual stills lies the entrance to the cave. After the staff unlocked the entrance, my jaw dropped.
.
A long hall borrows deep into the hillside, and after about 30 or 40 meters, guests are met with a truly one-of-a-kind chandelier in the style of crystal meets tree roots. Think the tree from The Fountain, only upside down. We dined at a marble , under lit table while a mysterious man strummed lightly on a five-string guitar in the corner.
.
Definition of Epic is Hall Winery Cave.

these wine flavors seem nutso to me.......

Last time I tasted those was when I fell off of my Schwinn Stingray after being chased by an irate crossing guard (I guess she didn’t like me throwing rotten apricots at her).

Don’t you want better flavors than that?
