Back to the Bowl; this time, toting all the wine and beer we could carry.

Lucky for me I have a cool family--big jazz heads, ‘nuff said.  So, when they offered me some tickets to the Bowl for the Playboy Jazz Fest on Sunday I didn’t hesitate for a moment.  As I stated in the blog series, Guide to the Outdoor Amphitheaters of Los Angeles: Part I-The Hollywood Bowl, there are restrictions to what you can bring into the bowl per event. Well, for the Playboy Jazz Fest, you can bring in anything

To indulge, I brought the following libations: Lindeman’s Lambic Framboise (delicious raspberry Belgian beer), Fantinel Prosecco Brut (a fabulous, Italian sparkling wine), Ruffino Libaio Chardonnay (Italian, great wine for the price!), Cycles Pinot Noir, Falesco Vitiano (another great Italian buy), Seventy Five (California Cab), Obsidian Ridge (California Cab), and some Govino glasses to drink in style (unbreakable, reusable, recyclable plastic wine glasses).  Check out these great tasting and budget friendly wines.  In addition, my friends brought Margaritas, Amstel and Bud! We were happily lit the entire time.  And we drank plenty of water too.  And I made my famous organic vegan potato salad, an organic green salad, and cut up some organic fruit for dessert.

Surprisingly, from our seats, the sun was behind trees or clouds the entire afternoon so it never got uncomfortably hot. The line up was great, with my personal highlights being that Dee Dee Bridgewater, Keb’ Mo’ and Herbie Hancock.   All and all, it was a beautiful afternoon, with Hollywood sign and obscenely giant glowing cross decorating the hills surrounding the Bowl, surrounded by friends, and an unbreakable goblet of wine in hand at all times...

Libaciously yours,

EB
