The Impeccable and Riveting wines of Sean Thackrey

A favorite of Robert Parker and Stephen Tanzer, the wines of Sean Thackrey are as compelling as his ideas about the art of winemaking. Committed to creating the best wine possible, Mr. Thackrey can’t sell a wine that he doesn’t love himself, and compares the company of a great wine to that of a great friend.
Robert Parker has called the wines of Sean Thackrey “impeccable” and “riveting”, and further states “As I have stated so many times before, Sean Thackrey's limited production gems are among the most original expressions of winemaking in California. Although the three current releases are all extremely limited in quantity, they are worth the special effort needed to obtain them”.
This “special effort” to obtain these treasures simply consists of hopping aboard the Wally’s website and ordering a bottle or two. We at Wally’s Wine & Spirits have always been passionate about these wonderfully rich and textured creations – from the Pleiades, a multi-vintage blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, Carignane, and Petite Sirah, to the Sirius Petite Syrah and Orion Syrah. These wines are a perfect accompaniment with foods as well. Grilled meats and vegetables are an obvious choice, as are rich pasta sauces and braised dishes.
The common theme woven throughout the Thackrey wines are luxurious, layered and ripe textures, perfect for rich and flavorful foods. We encourage you to become “friends” with Thackrey wines – and begin what we know will be a lasting and enduring relationship.

I have long been a fan of Thackrey’s wines. I think he is a very original wine maker and his wines are flavorful and very different. I am looking forward to doing a vertical of his Pleiades, from XII to XVI.
